About My Practice

About My Psychotherapy Practice

I practice a form of therapy which is adapted to my clients' specific needs, and which helps access hidden, unwanted feelings so they can be released. Drawing on client-centered therapy, I act as a compassionate facilitator to help clients better understand and accept their psychological and emotional processes.
For those so disposed, I include Transpersonal Therapy and Psychosynthesis which help a person recognize and nurture their unity with the spiritual core within their consciousness.

Therapy is a joint process based on building an emotional partnership between client and therapist. I work toward creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment conducive to earning my clients' trust. Clients decide how much they are ready to reveal at any time. Eventually, the more a client can share--even what may be difficult or seem insignificant--the quicker the progress.

In private practice since 1980, I have a Ph.D. degree in Psychology and a license (No. MFC15349) from the state of California to practice psychotherapy as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT). I also have over thirty-five years experience with people in several Twelve Step Fellowships. I am the author of three books:

My Ego, My Higher Power, And I;
Forever One, Letters from God-You Are Perfect Love;
and The Twelve Steps for Everyone...who really wants them.

The Twelve Steps for Everyone . . ., originally published anonymously, has sold more than one half-million copies to date, and is available in a Spanish translation edition.

My free brochure, Transformational Therapy, describes the type of therapy I practice in more detail. Please send for your free copy. See Books and CD's page for a description of the brochure.
